Welcome to Midnight Reads, a little corner of the internet built by a book obsessed, slightly unhinged reader who believes everyone deserves to find a story they can't stop thinking about.

Hi, I'm Tameika. 👋

I started Midnight Reads in January 2025 after in 2022 when my love for books absolutely skyrocketed. Reading became my favourite escape from reality, a way to disappear into magical worlds, fall in love with fictional characters (especially the deliciously dangerous ones), and forget about real life for a little while.

I've always been known for being a little quirky... okay, a lot quirky... and just the right amount of unhinged (okay maybe more so). I wanted to create something that reflected that, a business where I could be unapologetically myself, share my love of books, and hopefully help others discover stories that make them feel the same way.

The moment I finally thought,

"F**k it, I'm doing this."

Was when I started rebinding books.

I've always been creative, and I'm the kind of person who's constantly coming up with new ideas and hobbies. Rebinding gave me a way to combine creativity with my biggest passion, and Midnight Reads was born.

A Little About Me

If you couldn't already tell... I have a slight obsession with books.

My favourite genres are Romantasy and Dark Romance, with Reverse Harem holding a very special place in my heart... because honestly, what girl doesn't want multiple fictional boyfriends who are also boyfriends? 🤭

Reading has become so much more than just a hobby for me. It's an escape, an adventure, and a way to experience worlds I'd never otherwise visit. But more than that, I love how books bring people together.

One of my favourite stories actually comes from when I was little. My mum was the biggest reader, and she always reminds me that I'd look at her and say,

"Mum... how can you read? It's SO boring!"

Safe to say... that didn't age well. 😂

These days, I'm the one who always has my nose buried in a book, and one of the things I'm most proud of is helping my mum rediscover her own love of reading. Watching us come full circle and now recommend books to each other has been something really special.

I'm also incredibly proud to say I've personally converted more than 10 friends into readers (you're welcome 😌), all thanks to convincing them to read A Court of Thorns and Roses, the very series that kicked off my own reading journey.

Some of my favourite memories involve sitting around with my best friends, absolutely cackling like hyenas over book theories, fictional men, plot twists, and whatever completely unhinged discussion we've somehow managed to start.

Since launching Midnight Reads, meeting fellow readers has become my favourite part of this whole adventure. I genuinely love recommending books, hearing everyone's favourite reads, discovering new authors, and listening to your wonderfully chaotic book theories.

I, however, absolutely will.

Every single book that ends up in the Midnight Reads library has been carefully chosen. I spend countless hours researching titles, reading reviews, asking fellow readers for recommendations, and making sure the books I stock are ones I genuinely believe people will fall in love with.

Supporting Australian romance authors is also incredibly important to me, and I'm always looking for opportunities to showcase local talent alongside internationally loved favourites.

More than anything, I want people to visit my website, message me on Instagram, or stop by one of my market stalls and think,

"Damn... this girl is absolutely crazy about books."

Because they'd be right.

I want Midnight Reads to feel like walking into a conversation with your book bestie. A place where you can scream about fictional men, rant about cliffhangers, obsess over tropes, and embrace your own wonderfully unhinged reader era without judgement.
